The Mannequins portfolio began with the unlikely find of five vintage mannequins in the storage area of a defunct hardware store in Juneau, Alaska in the mid-1970s. Of the five mannequins, I acquired one, Dick. The mannequin’s given name was written on his back, along with a label that indicated that he and his brother mannequins were created in Vienna c. 1920. Dick (sometimes accompanied by his brothers, Chuck, Art, Ed and Bob) has had many fine adventures. All of the brothers, with the exception of Bob, live with me today and look as fine and fit as the first day we met.
